What is confidence?
First of all needing more confidence doesn’t necessarily mean that you are shy or nervous. You might be confident in certain situations, but not in others.
Confidence is a feeling of being at ease, of being comfortable within yourself. So you might call it feeling happy or peaceful.
It's also about believing that you can achieve the things you really want and performing at your best.
The importance of confidence
Why do I coach people to help them develop great confidence? Well, you may have heard that knowledge is power. However, knowledge without action is merely potential power.
What makes the difference between someone taking action or not?
Often it's a lack of confidence; failing to act effectively (or at all!) because of fear or lack of belief. If there is something you don’t have, it’s because you don’t really believe that you will get it.
When people are stressed and anxious this is also due to a lack of confidence in their ability.
